Ivf Center in Wakad

In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is one of the branches of assisted reproductive technology (ART). IVF is a method of fertilization that involves removing eggs, obtaining seminal samples, and physically uniting an embryo and sperm cell. The embryo(s) are then implanted in the uterus. Gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT) and zygote intrafallopian transfer (ZIFT) are two more types of ART (ZIFT).

What is the purpose of IVF?

Infertility can be treated with IVF in the following patients:

  • Fallopian tubes that are blocked or damaged.
  • Male factor infertility, which includes low sperm count or motility.
  • Women suffering from ovulation problems, early ovarian failure, or uterine fibroids.
  • Women whose fallopian tubes have been removed.
  • Individuals suffering from a hereditary condition.
  • Unknown cause of infertility.

Procedure

Depending on whether assisted reproductive technologies are utilized and whether or not donated eggs, sperm, or embryos are used, the IVF method may differ slightly from person to person.
Typically, the female will begin taking contraceptive pills or an injectable drug that inhibits ovulation during the session before treatment, thereby halting the woman’s natural ovulation cycle. This allows the doctor to control ovulation and avoid losing the eggs just before extraction. Following a preliminary blood test and an ultrasound, the lady will begin taking ovulation stimulation drugs, which are generally gonadotropins.
Clomid or no ovulation-stimulating drugs are used in minimum stimulation IVF, although this is uncommon. Every so many days, the clinic will use ultrasound and blood tests to evaluate follicle growth and hormone levels.
While the follicles appear to be developed, the lady will be given an injection of HCG to help the eggs grow. An egg extraction will be planned a specified number of hours following the injection, during which the lady will be given IV sedation and the eggs will be removed via the vaginal wall using an ultrasound-guided needle.
When the lady is having her eggs extracted, the male will be donating a sample of her sperm. It is sometimes done once during the retrieval and once just before retrieval day (and frozen), in case of any issues or anxiety when generating the sample.
The sperm will be washed in a specific way, and the eggs will be put in a unique culture The semen will be mixed with the eggs in the expectation that fertilization will occur.
After a few days, an embryologist will assist in selecting the finest of the fertilized embryos, if any, and your fertility specialist will assist in determining how many embryos to implant. Excess embryos can be cryopreserved for use in a future cycle, contributed to some other couple, or discarded.

Success Rate

The chances of success with IVF will be determined by a number of factors, such as your age, the underlying causes) of your infertility, whether or not donor eggs are utilized, past treatment outcomes, and the clinic’s competence in your specific needs. Having said that, IVF therapy has a high success rate in general. According to the Society of Assisted Reproductive Technologies (SART) figures from 2017, the proportion of live births per IVF cycle for women under the age of 35 was around 54.7 percent.

Safety

IVF is usually safe, although there are concerns, like with any medical treatment. Your doctor should sit down with you and go through all of the potential side effects and risks associated with each treatment.
